FISHING REPORT OF LAKE KOOCANUSA as of 5/6/2008. Sorry for the delay been busy getting ready for the derby. We have had some nice rainbows brought out in the last two weeks. There was an 8.5 on Thursday May 1st and quiet a few 3-6 lbs since then. They are just starting to hit and so are the salmon. The schools are finally breaking up and the trollers are getting really good catches. The fisherman tell me they are bigger and healthier than they have seen them in years. Kokanee are rangeing from 8-14 inches in size. Three for a jar as they tell me is what they are catching. The rain last night warmed the water up to 43 degrees for today. They are calling for thunderstorms tomorrow 5/7/08 for us here and then for the rest it says 50% and below of rain up to tuesday of next week. The run off is really coming in and we are starting to come up. For now the dam is letting out 9,000 for the next two weeks. As of today we have 10,000 coming in, it has been only 7,000. The new marina is coming along. The water hasd not lifted the old marina in the bay yet, but it is close. The water is almost to the edge of the large sand shelf for you that have been here before. It is sunny today and is expected to stay this way for the rest of the week. Call any time for info on the fishing. NEW FISHING REGULATIONS ARE AVAILABLE NOW. SALMON HAS BEEN RAISED TO 50 PER DAY 100 IN POSSESION. LISENCES FOR THE 2008 SEASON ARE AVAILABLE AS OF 2/19/2008 THESE ARE GOOD STARTING MARCH 1ST AND LAST TELL LAST DAY OF FEB 2009.
